South Africans are a pretty robust nation and so I have never experienced a problem with the blankets donated for the healthy babies. (I have a very sensitive skin and also suffer from allergies and there are certain products which I stay away from as a matter of fact)
ZootyOwlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01887672371738262246noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6956580888802502860.post-2968740699174282112018-04-28T16:01:55.736+02:002018-04-28T16:01:55.736+02:00This is a wonderful idea, and very creative! I have a fragrance allergy, so I am worried that the fabric softeners and added baby linen spray could be a problem for caretakers (if not the baby). I make it a practice of keeping my projects free of all fragrances, but perhaps fragrances in Australia are not synthetic? Those are the real allergy-producers in my experience. Fragrances created after about 1990 also are more toxic than older fragrances. ~PaulaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6956580888802502860.post-52173866658823725542018-03-11T09:48:21.209+02:002018-03-11T09:48:21.209+02:00Very informative post, thank you xxx PatVery informative post, thank you xxx PatPat Wilkinsonhttp://sunshineandasewingbasket.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6956580888802502860.post-5948475301580641682018-01-30T15:19:34.707+02:002018-01-30T15:19:34.707+02:00Thankyou - have already made 2 they are addictive....Thankyou - have already made 2 they are addictive.
Shaelynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16804248117504229660noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6956580888802502860.post-23975549472099404842018-01-30T15:02:21.282+02:002018-01-30T15:02:21.282+02:00Hi Shaelyn! For a lapghan 142ch (=140dc) and about 90 rows.
ZootyOwlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01887672371738262246noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6956580888802502860.post-3506262163909393752018-01-30T14:59:25.208+02:002018-01-30T14:59:25.208+02:00Hi Holly - usually a 7.00mm hook. For some brands the DK is much thicker (e.g Elle Charity) - then I will rather use an 8.00mm.
ZootyOwlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01887672371738262246noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6956580888802502860.post-51213568716062018282018-01-29T21:44:02.327+02:002018-01-29T21:44:02.327+02:00curious what size hook you typically use to keep t...curious what size hook you typically use to keep these from getting too stiff with 2 strands of yarn. I think between us we have started a worldwide de-stash MB craze.

I do know some members from my FB page have advised they have used one ball of any weight along with one ball of the same weight for a blanket and it crochets up beautifully. Their advise is as long as one ball is a consistent weight the other can be anything.Kim’s Magic Blanketshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07006887276549080496noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6956580888802502860.post-375457235391690702018-01-12T03:02:40.490+02:002018-01-12T03:02:40.490+02:00I love this idea! I have also tried the Russian join which I think is a bit stronger. I love making huge balls of multi coloured yarn and then just crocheting away. I'm sure the charities will be grateful for these blankets even if a few of the knots do become undone. :) xlindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00139295265567390855noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6956580888802502860.post-31721417166191944412018-01-11T15:45:28.617+02:002018-01-11T15:45:28.617+02:00Thanks Andrea!!Thanks Andrea!!ZootyOwlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01887672371738262246noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6956580888802502860.post-51424089934830624922018-01-11T15:43:31.475+02:002018-01-11T15:43:31.475+02:00Wonderful blog post!
