Happy Days CAL (2): Sunny Flower Square

Welcome to Part 2 of our Happy Days Blanket Crochet Along!

Our next square is the Sunny Flower Square.

SUNNY FLOWER SQUARE PATTERN 

YARN:  DK (8ply / light worsted weight) 100% acrylic 

HOOK:  5.00mm

SIZE:  14cm x 14cm

PATTERN TERMS:   US

Rows 1 - 3 Click on the link and crochet Rows 1 - 3 of the SUNNY FLOWER MOTIF

Row 4:  Join yarn in any 4ch sp;   2ch (counts as 1hdc),  4hdc into same sp as join;  5hdc into next 4ch sp;   [3dc, 3ch, 3dc into next 4ch sp (corner formed);   (5hdc into next 4ch sp) x2] x3;   3dc, 3ch, 3dc into next 4ch sp;   sl st into top of start 2ch to close.

Row 5:  3ch (counts as 1dc);   1dc into top of each stitch all around (Note:   into corner 3ch crochet 2dc, 3ch, 2dc);  sl st into top of start 3ch to close.

Row 6:  2ch (counts as 1hdc);   1hdc into top of each stitch all around (Note:   into corner 3ch crochet 2hdc, 3ch, 2hdc);  sl st into top of start 2ch to close.

Make 10 of these squares.

July has been WIP- and Scrap Busting month for me!   I have made a lot of progress - although there are still a few older / larger projects which I am hoping to finish in the next 5 days (but more about that in another post)!.

As soon as I have cleared my table I am going to concentrate solely on the Happy Days Blanket.    I will post our next square on the 8 August 2014 (can you BELIEVE it is August already???)- and hopefully by then I have crocheted enough squares for a nice "layout" photo!

  2. I love the colors you use in your patterns. I head up a crochet group at our church and I think this would be perfect to do a crochet a-long. Thanks so much for your newsletter and all your wonderful patterns.
